Welcome back from a crazy week of winter weather! I am from Maryland and we're pretty used to some yearly snow, but snow in the south is definitely different! I am so glad that all our students made it home safely even though it took much longer than they were used to.
Due to our weather emergency, I was unable to preview the ACCESS test format with students last week like I had planned. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, testing will still start this week. I will spend time on Monday preparing students regarding the testing format, but will begin the individual speaking portion of the ACCESS test on Tuesday of this week.
The speaking portion consists of picture prompts with questions. There is no preparation needed for the speaking tests, but it is always good practice for your children to speak in complete and extended sentences when responding to your questions.
