It's hard to believe that it's already March. Spring break will be here before you know it!
This week in ESOL, we will be getting back to our normal schedule of classes. FINALLY!
1st grade will be working on author's purpose. This is why author's write book. We will look for key words to help us decide if the book persuades, informs, or entertains. PIE!
2nd graders will be reviewing folktales and fables learned in class while I was testing. We will be reading fables and folktales to help us prepare for a quiz on Thursday. Remember to read the study guide to help prepare your student for the quiz.
3rd grade will be finishing up persuasive writing that they started with Mrs. May while I was testing. We will be revising and editing to check that students used persuasive language, are writing multiple paragraphs, and are giving clear reasons with examples. Check out the resources page to see how students have been using OREO writing to persuade.
4th and 5th graders will be revisiting nonfiction for the next few weeks.
Have you seen Fulton County's new website? I'm happy to see that the web team is continuing to make the website user friendly! They have now added a Google Translate bar at the top of the website. This makes it easy to translate the entire website into many languages.

Our Bilingual Community Liaison (BCL), Ivon Van der Lende will be holding a 2nd parent workshop on Wednesday, March 12 @ 7:30 in the computer lab. Come find out how you can use Fulton's website to check your child's grades using Home Access and to get school updates on SchoolCollabo.
If you weren't able to make it to our first parent workshop, you can still check out the PowerPoint from the workshop. Please contact me or Ivon if you have any questions or want more information.
Please help us plan for parent workshops by completing the surveys. They are quick and easy!
