I can't believe it's the last week of November that we'll be in school! When we come back from Thanksgiving break it will be DECEMBER! This week...
1st graders are reviewing main idea with the book All About Turkeys and then practicing this with their reading group books.
2nd graders are comparing and contrasting nonfiction books about the same topic using a graphic organizer.
3rd graders are working on writing paragraphs and revising their all about papers.
4th & 5th graders are examining primary sources from the Pilgrims and comparing that to the many secondary sources that we use to tell about the Pilgrims and Thanksgiving.
I can't way to eat some turkey for Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving is a great time to discuss your family traditions and build background for your child. Here are some questions that you can discuss:
What does your family eat that is special?
Why do we celebrate Thanksgiving in America?
Why did Pilgrims come to America?
Why did your family come to America?
