Hello 2015! We are half way through the year, but still have a lot to learn!
This week in ESOL...
5th grade is using facts from a nonfiction book to support an opinion. We will discuss the three major purposes that authors write: persuade, inform, and entertain.
4th grade will be using text evidence to support their writing. We will be learning to paraphrase and cite and not plagiarize our writing.
3rd grade is exploring idioms and non-literal language. We will be reading Who Wants a Cheap Rhinoceros? by Shel Silverstein and writing to persuade someone to buy a pet.
2nd grade will be reviewing nouns this week. Review nouns on IXL and Turtle Diary.
1st grade is writing about their opinions using words to show their feelings and transition words.
