Happy Veteran's Day! Do you know why we celebrate Veteran's Day? Read about it here: http://www.usconsulate.org.hk/pas/kids/vd.htmThis week...
4th & 5th graders are working on problem and solution nonfiction texts. We are reading about two things that are very real issues in our reading groups: landfills and energy. These are problems that we have to deal with in life and maybe one of these students will be able to come up with a long-term, sustainable solution for us.
3rd graders are writing all about books topics they know. Amazingly, we have kids who know all about Elmo, dogs, pandas, football, goldfish, school, and stuffed animals. Keep an eye out for our finished work soon!
2nd graders are using text features while reading nonfiction books. Text features help us read and makes reading a little easier. This week we will learn about the table of contents, index, glossary, bold print (and other fancy words), pictures, and captions. These are all the things that authors add in their books to make it understandable for us.
1st graders have started to wrok on main idea and details. We read The The Snowy Day and wrote all about what we can do on a snowy day.
