It was a pleasure meeting with several parents to discuss ESOL progress during conferences. As always, I am here to support your student in any way I can even if it is not during ESOL time. Please feel free to contact me so that we can discuss your student's progress.
This week is a short week, but ESOL students are still busy!
1st graders are reading books on seasons and are learning about different types of connections they can make when they read. We will be reading Fall is Not Easy and Fall is Fall while we make connections with changes in our season.
2nd graders are finishing their chapter books and are continuing to work on story elements. Students will complete tests on their books on Thursday.
3rd graders are continuing to write about an important person in their life and are working on regular, irregular, and helping past tense verbs in their writing.
4th & 5th graders have been reading about chronology (sequence, order) and are identifying other sequence words besides first, next, then, last. These are words we use all the time, but other words let us know an order as well.
