Please sign up for conferences with your child's homeroom teacher. I am happy to attend your child's conference or can meet with your separately to discuss your child's progress in learning English.
This week in ESOL...
2nd graders are working on their narratives and including compound sentences in their writing. We are still having issues when we write by only using one punctuation mark at the end of our writing so we will discuss this as well.
3rd graders read A Picnic in October about a boy whose feelings changed about celebrating the Statue of Liberty's birthday. We are writing about a time that our feelings changed. We will be including compound sentences and dialogue in our writing.
4th and 5th graders are working on a narrative about a time that they received a gift. We have introduced higher level feeling words so that we are not describing our feelings with just being happy, sad, or mad. We need to work on expanding our vocabulary and describing the event so someone else knows how we feel. We will also be including dialogue and compound sentences in our writing.
